Presentation Title: Lessons Learned in Adopting a Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) Capability
Presentation Overview: This presentation looks at the lessons learned in implementing QRA by an African energy utility. The utility has been facing major challenges where demand for energy has often outweighed supply. Although these challenges are being addressed by the construction of additional power generating facilities, many of these “Mega” construction projects are finding it difficult to meet their schedule and budgetary objectives. The organisation has acquired the QRA capability to assist in gaining a more realistic view of the project schedule. This presentation focuses on the challenges, success, and areas of improvement in implementing QRA to four diverse projects at different stages of the project life cycle.
Speaker Bio: Egan Naidoo is a risk management practitioner with 15 years’ experience in implementing and enabling risk processes and systems. He has applied his knowledge in many industries including banking, construction, shipping and now with an African public utility. His current role is that of Chief Risk Advisor working in the projects environment.
Presentation Title: Utilising P6 For Schedule Forensic Delay Analysis
Presentation Overview: This presentation will concentrate on how a Scheduler using P6 may better capture relevant information for the purposes of producing records to back up any claim for Extension of Time or Disruption. We will look at how building intelligence into Activity IDs may help, utilising Notebook Topics to capture relevant information, assigning Activity Codes to better present how the Schedule has been affected and colour coding individual activity bars to represent delays and disruption. We will provide an overview of the four main methods for analysing delays in a schedule.
Speaker Bio: Raymond has been involved in projects since the 1980s. He has worked on high profile projects in Ireland & overseas. His client list traverses many business sectors. Always an outspoken & entertaining speaker, his presentations not only depart knowledge but also stimulate thought provoking questions for the individual.

Presentation Title: Creating Time Location Charts From P6
Presentation Overview: Road, Rail, Pipeline, multi-story buildings, and many other types of linear projects are often best viewed as a time-location chart.
These charts can condense a complex project of 1000's of tasks onto a single sheet of paper, clearly showing work sequencing and getting everyone from the CEO to site workers to understand the project from the same graphic.
We discuss the basic principles of the time-location chart and demonstrate how to create one in minutes direct from data held in P6.
Speaker Bio: Previously Owner and CTO of Pertmaster (Primavera Risk Analysis, OPRA) before it was acquired by Primavera in 2006, then VP of Analytics at Primavera.
